Questions we hear before the first workshop
Clear answers about what we do — and what we deliberately do not offer. Learning-science voice, Canadian pricing in CAD, educator sign-off on every published view.
Do you offer wellness coaching, career coaching, diplomas, or outcome guarantees?
No. Smart Edu AI Inc. is a learning analytics and adaptive-learning edtech studio — not a wellness programme, life-coaching brand, trade school or accredited awarding institution. The smarteduai.life domain is branding only; it does not signal lifestyle, self-help or personal-development services. We do not sell online courses for individual enrichment, provide mental-health or fitness coaching, issue diplomas or degrees, or guarantee employment, salary increases, licensure exam pass rates, retention, grades or academic credit. Our work helps organizations measure learning more accurately; individual outcomes depend on institutional implementation, instructor practice, learner effort and data quality. If you are seeking credentials, wellness support or coaching, please contact an accredited educational provider or licensed professional in your jurisdiction.
What happens during an analytics review?
We begin with stakeholder interviews and a document review of your learning objectives, current dashboards and data schema. Our team maps metrics to constructs, identifies gaps and privacy risks, and delivers a prioritized report with workshop facilitation so faculty and engineers co-own next steps. First data cut typically arrives within 4.2 weeks; full review runs four to eight weeks. Pricing from C$14,000 fixed-fee after a complimentary scoping call.
What is a typical project budget?
Analytics reviews from C$14,000. Full engagements — adaptive learning models, knowledge tracing, reporting integration with responsible-AI assurance — typically C$40,000–C$110,000 depending on cohort complexity, LMS integration depth and number of programmes. Instrument design sprints and accessibility audits are quoted separately. We provide written proposals before engagement letters are signed. All figures in Canadian dollars, exclusive of applicable taxes.
Do you work with public BC institutions subject to FIPPA?
Yes. We regularly support colleges, universities and school districts navigating BC's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. We help classify data elements, document collection purposes, design retention practices and support privacy impact assessments before analytics pipelines expand. FIPPA applies to public bodies; Smart Edu AI is a private consultancy governed primarily by PIPEDA — but we design workflows with provincial obligations in mind when supporting public-sector clients.
Can you integrate with our LMS or custom app?
We advise on event design and validation; we do not replace your engineering team. We produce specifications, sample queries and QA checklists compatible with Canvas, Moodle, D2L Brightspace exports and custom xAPI or product analytics stacks. Reporting integration deliverables wire into workflows instructors already use — SIS exports, dean's dashboards and accreditation binders.
Do models auto-grade or auto-expel students?
Never. Knowledge tracing and at-risk signals inform educator decisions; they do not trigger automated disciplinary action or credential issuance. Automated feedback remains draft-only until an instructor signs off. Human-in-the-loop review is standard on every published view.
Do you conduct research requiring ethics review?
When pilots involve human participants beyond routine programme evaluation, we align study materials with TCPS2 expectations and support your research ethics board submission. We do not substitute for institutional REB approval. Responsible-AI assurance documentation ships with every production model.
